Scrap n Stamp Hop into Spring Blog Hop
Hello Everyone. Thank you for hopping along with ScrapnStamp.ca‘s Hop into Spring Blog Hop! I am thrilled you stopped by. Giveaway and prize information is at the end. Please be sure to read on.
The great thing about ScrapnStamp.ca blog hops is that it is always interesting and entertaining to see how different we create with the same item – in this hop – Dee’s Distinctively Lilac IME-144, IME -142.
Hop into Spring Blog Hop features four Canadian designers using A Cut Above Dee’s Distinctively Lilac Die. This die can be used as a die cut, stencil and mask and contains a body piece and a die that cuts 12 individual Lilac flower petals in one pass. This wafer die can be used in most die cutting machines .
110 lb card stock was used to cut multiples of the die. Other punches and dies from my stash were used to cut greenery and flower petals to compliment the die design.
I decided to use Ranger Distress Oxide ink and the good ole stand by – regular Distress Ink. The one body portion of the die received a coat of Distress Oxide Ink in Shaded Lilac and another in Seedless Preserves to see which I preferred. I allowed them to dry and went over them with a heat tool to ensure they were completely dry before moving on. I decided on Shaded Lilac.
Regular Distress Ink was blended on all the die cuts, allowing each coat to dry before the next inking. Once I was content I moved onto shaping the petals and leaves and attached Lilac Petals to the Lilac body with liquid glue.
Greenery in light to dark shades of green ink on the top portion of a landscape card panel. I attached the lilac branch, flower body and assembled smaller flower buds to resemble clusters. Greenery was then added and finally Nuvo Crystal Drops.
The card front dried overnight to allow the Nuvo Crystal Drops to set . I prepared an inside panel adhering it to a coloured mat. I stamped Lilac flower buds in the bottom left hand side of the inside panel. The inside panel was attached to the inside card base with Nuvo Deluxe adhesive. The front card panel was attached to a matching coloured mat and then attached to the front card base. finally, Iridescent Bubbles were added to the card front.
